They're back...

The best is yet to come for season five of Nip/Tuck. Miami's sexiest plastic surgeons are back in business, this time bringing their scalpels to Hollywood, where superficial pressures of the industry take a toll on the McNamara/Troy practice.

After four successful seasons in Florida, Sean (Dylan Walsh) and Christian (Julian McMahon) start off as small fish in Beverly Hill's large plastic surgery pond. They find themselves having to start from scratch their business, where they haven't seen a patient in two months.

With no botox injections or boob-jobs to pay the bills, the boys hit the town where they meet their new publicist Fiona (Lauren Hutton). She insists the surgeons become involved with a new TV drama, Hearts and Scalpels. Acting as medical advisors for the show, Sean and Christian finally get their two seconds of fame which helps fill the appointment books.

Jonathan Toomey of TV Squad says, "The clichés are played out flawlessly and you can't help but laugh at the self-reflexive tone that Ryan Murphy (the creator of Nip/Tuck) has adopted."

Toomey says the fake TV drama plot is funny because we see a show within a show. "It's a fresh take that just proves they're willing to let go of the more serious themes and completely embrace the absurdity that being in Hollywood provides."

Hey Christina, this was a great story.

I'm not a regular viewer of the show, but have heard good things.

This gives the reader an opportunity to catch up on some of the backstory of the show while still giving regular fans the chance to get updated on where it's heading.

Great structure, good pacing, and a good job injecting the critic's perspective into the piece.
